William Matthew Currington, better known as Billy Currington, is an American country music artist from Georgia, USA. The artist is famous for producing chart topping hits like ‘I Gotta Feelin’ and ‘Walk A Little Straighter’. Signed to Mercury Records, Billy Currington debuted in 2003 with his self-titled album. Ever since, he has released three more albums under the same label that have spawned nine singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts, including six #1 hits ‘Must Be Doin’ Somethin Right’, ‘People Are Crazy’, ‘Good Directions’, ‘Pretty Good at Drinkin Beer’, ‘Let Me Down Easy’ and ‘That’s How Country ‘Boys Roll’. Billy has been helped by the duet ‘Party for Two’ with Shania Twain to reach his current success, along with his own non-album single ‘Tangled Up’, for a total of eleven Top 40 hits.

Born in Savannah, Georgia, Billy Currington was raised in Rincon, Georgia. He currently resides in Nashville, Tennessee. Billy was introduced to country music by his step father who later died of drinking and cancer. As a junior in high school, Billy auditioned at the Opryland USA theme park, but couldn’t make it. After graduation, he shifted to Nashville to pursue a career in music. After various attempts, his talent was finally recognized and got signed to Mercury Records.
