Blake Tollison Shelton is a 34 year old American country music artist, who made his debut with the single ‘Austin’ in 2001. The song was released as the lead-off single form his self-titled debut album and peaked at the #1 spot on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts for five consecutive weeks. The album went gold, and produced further two Top 20 Hits, including ‘All Over Me’ and ‘OI’ Red’. Blake Shelton’s success continued as his following two albums were also certified gold. His fourth album, Pure BS, was released in 2007 and featured Top 20 hits like ‘Don’t Make Me’ and ‘The More I Drink. The album was however, re-released in 2008 with three bonus tracks, including a cover of Michael Bublé’s hit single ‘Home’, which turned out to be Shelton’s fourth #1 hit. Blake Shelton released one more album and an EP in the following years and is currently working on his sixth studio album Red River Blue.
Born in Ada, Oklahoma, Blake Shelton became at local celebrity at age 16 when he won the Denbo Diamond Award, which is the top award for young Oklahoma entertainers. After finishing high school, Shelton moved to Nashville, where he was able to get several songs published with Naomi Martin Music, Warner/Chappell Music, and Jerry Crutchfield Music, before turning his songwriting into a successful recording in 2001 with his debut single, ‘Austin’.
