Debuting in 1998 with her single ‘…Baby One More Time’, and releasing her debut album in the following year of the same name, Britney Spears became a prominent figure in mainstream popular music and popular culture, followed by a much-publicized personal life during her first decade within the music industry. Selling millions of records worldwide, Spears became a bona fide pop phenomenon. Her first two #1 international hit tracks included ‘…Baby One More Time’ and ‘Oops!… I Did It Again’. Her other chart-topping hits include ‘Me Against the Music’, ‘Toxic’, ‘Everytime’, ‘Piece of Me’, ‘Gimme More’, and ‘Womanizer’.
Born on December 2, 1981, Britney Spears grew up Kentwood, Louisiana, where she started to attend dance lessons at age 3. She was great at gymnastics and has own many competitions during her childhood. Since at tender age, Spears had a passion for singing. After being turned down from the audition of “The All New Mickey Mouse Club” at age 8 due to her young age, Spears became the lead character of the off-Broadway show ‘Ruthless’ for two years. At age 11, she again tried for “The All New Mickey Mouse Club” (1989) and, this time, made it as a mouseketeer alongside many stars of today including Justin Timberlake. However, her big break came when she was signed as a Jive Recording Artist in the late 90s.
