Far East Movement Biography

Originating from the clubs and streets of Los Angeles, USA, Far East Movement (abbreviated as FM) is an American electro hop quartet, known as one of the freshest crews representing the next generation of artists and “fly music.” The group formed in 2003, and comprises Kev Nish, Prohgress, J-Splif and DJ Virman. The first multicultural live music event by Far East Movement was in Koreatown, Los Angeles to benefit a drug rehabilitation center. Their initial claim to fame was their song ‘Round Round’, which got featured in the Hollywood movie, The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift. Since, the quartet has been featured on various network shows including CSI: Miami, CSI: NY, Gossip Girl, etc. Their #1 hit single ‘Like a G6’ made them international celebrities in 2010.  FM is known for their international appeal and energetic live shows.

Far East Movement was initially started by three friends from high school, including Kev Nish, Prohgress, and J-Splif. The trio promoted their music online and began performing at local clubs and events in their vicinity. In 2001, they began their musical career with the name “Emcee’s Anonymous”, which was later changed to Far East Movement, originating from a song that they produced with the same name.
