Keidran Jones, more popular by his stage name Iyaz, is a Caribbean singer and rapper signed to Beluga Heights Records. Releasing his chart topping debut single ‘Reply’ in 2009, Iyaz quickly garnered himself commercial success from different parts of the world. He is also an actor and appeared in the popular Disney’s TV series Hannah Montana Forever as his real self.
Born to a musical family in 1987, Iyaz grew up in Tortola, British Virgin Islands, attending New England Institute of Technology studying digital recording. He also recorded music at that time. Iyaz was discovered by Sean Kingston in 2008 through his MySpace page, later signing him to a recording contract with Time Is Money/Beluga Heights. After releasing his debut single ‘Replay’ in 2009, Iyaz released his second single ‘Solo’ in 2010 that peaked at #32 on the Hot 100. His debut album Replay was also released in 2010 and also featured on Charice’s single ‘Pyramid’.
His lilting reggae-infused R&B melodies are inspired by wireless romance, island shorties, and the agony of unreciprocated love.
