Jack Hody Johnson is a folk-rock singer-songwriter, and musician known for his work in the soft rock and acoustic genres. He is also an accomplished professional surfer and filmmaker. Jack Johnson attained significance and commercial success when he first appeared on G. Love & Special Sauce’s album Philadelphonic. He released his debut album in 2001, Brushfire Fairytales, which further solidified his popularity and has since released four more successful albums, along with a number of EPs and surfing movies/soundtracks. Having sold over 15 million albums throughout the globe, Jack Johnson’s highest–selling album is Sing-A-Longs and Lullabies for the Film Curious George, with 4 million albums shipped worldwide, due to the success of the 2006 Curious George film. Some of his most popular songs include ‘Better Together’, ‘Upside Down’, ‘Sitting, Waiting, Wishing’, ‘Flake’, ‘If I Had Eyes’, and ‘You and Your Heart’.

Born and raised on the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii to a popular surfer – Jeff Johnson, Jack Johnson showed interest in the sport too from a very young age and started surfing at age 5. While attending college, Jack developed an interest in music and played rhythm guitar for the party band Soil. His songwriting influences came from popular artists like Bob Dylan, Radiohead, Jimi Hendrix, G. Love and Special Sauce, and a few others.
