Kanye Omari West is a Grammy Award winning rapper, producer, singer, author, and designer from Chicago, Illinois. Starting his career in music as a hip-hop beat-maker, Kayne West went on to becoming a worldwide hit-maker by achieving recognition for his work on Jay-Z’s album The Blueprint, which led him to signing a major-label recording contract and, ultimately, a wildly successful solo career. He is also acclaimed for producing hit singles for other musical artists such as Alicia Keys, Janet Jackson, and Ludacris. Kanye West is known for his beats that are paired with tongue-twisting raps and also for a self-assured, flamboyant personality. He possesses a well-groomed fashion sense that sets him apart from other rappers.

Born in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, Kanye West moved to Chicago with his mother after his parent’s divorce. He dropped out from Chicago State University to focus on his music career and gained fame by producing hit singles for major hip hop/R&B artists, including Jay-Z, Cam’ron, Talib Kweli, John Legend and more. In 2004, West released his debut album The College Dropout, which was followed by four more albums: Late Registration in 2005, Graduation in 2007, 808s & Heartbreak in 2008, and My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy in 2010.
