Orianthi Panagaris, better known as just Orianthi, is a musician, singer-songwriter and guitarist of Greek and Australian decent. She is best known for being the final guitarist to work with Michael Jackson before his death for his ‘This Is It’ concert series. She has also worked with renowned artists, such as Carrie Underwood, Steve Vai, and Carlos Santana. She earned worldwide recognition and success through her debut single ‘According to You’ from her second studio album Believe, which received a worldwide release in late 2009. The song has peaked at #3 in Japan, #8 in Australia and #17 in the US.
Born in Adelaide, South Australia, Orianthi started playing the piano at age 3. At age 6, she learned to play the acoustic guitar and through the encouragement of her father, started electric when she was eleven and left her school, Mercedes College, and enrolled at Cabra Dominican College. Since age 14, Orianthi has been playing in bands in France and England. By age 15, Orianthi’s focus was on songwriting and began her professional career.
