Sara Beth Bareilles is a Grammy Award nominated American singer-songwriter and pianist. This gifted artist with no formal training possesses a naturally skilled voice that ranges from powerful and soulful to sweet and gentle, and for which, she is often compared to the likes of Norah Jones and Fiona Apple. Arriving on the pop scene in 2003, Sara Bareilles gained mainstream success in 2007 with the hit single ‘Love Song’. The song debuted at the number one spot on the Billboard Pop 100 chart. Selling more than a million records worldwide, Sara Bareilles till date has released three studio albums and two live albums.
Born in Eureka, California, Sara Bareilles was raised Catholic and participated in the high school choir, Limited Edition, and local community theater musical productions. After graduating from the University of California, Los Angeles, where she attended the Communication Studies program, Bareilles performed at local bars and clubs. Her debut studio album, Careful Confessions, was released in 2004, after which she signed a contract with Epic Records. Her sophomore album Little Voice was released in 2007 and turned out to be her major-label debut reaching the #1 position on the list of most downloaded albums of the music store in its first week of release. Kaleidoscope Heart, her third studio album, was released in 2010 and debuted at #1 in the United States, selling 90,000 copies.
