The Band Perry Biography

The Band Perry is an American country group from Ridgeland, Mississippi. Made up of three siblings, Kimberly Perry (on the lead vocals, rhythm guitar, and piano), Reid Perry (on the bass guitar, and background vocals) and Neil Perry (on the mandolin, drums, accordion, and background vocals), The Band Perry formed in 2005, making its debut single “Hip to My Heart” in 2009. The trio released two more singles in the following years, including “If I Die Young”, which peaked at #19 on the Hot 100 and went double platinum, and “You Lie”, their second consecutive release to reach top ten on the Hot Country Songs chart. All three songs are included on the band’s self-titled debut album, which was released in 2010.

Born in Mobile, Alabama, the Perry siblings moved to Greeneville, Tennessee at a tender age. As a teenager, Kimberly Perry sang in her own band with her brothers Neil and Reid working as roadies. At the ages of 8 and 10 years old, Reid Perry and Neil Perry started performing as an opening act, the Mobile Music Machines, for Kimberly. Soon after, the three siblings united to form The Band Perry, and joined a New Faces of Country tour in 2005.
