Tim McGraw Biography

Samuel Timothy McGraw, better known as Tim McGraw, is the singer who is synonymous to country music genre. He is also an actor and has been casted in films like Black Cloud and Friday Night Lights, among many others, and is married to country singer Faith Hill. Releasing a string of multi-platinum albums, this country music superstar is a three-time Grammy Award winner and has sold more than 40 million albums till date. Some of his chart topping hits include ‘Don’t Take the Girl’, ‘Live Like You Were Dying’, ‘I Like It, I Love It’, ‘Indian Outlaw’, ‘Something Like That’,  and ‘It’s Your Love’ (featuring his wife, Faith Hill).

Born in a town in Richland Parish, called Delhi, Louisiana, Tim McGraw is the son of former baseball player Tug McGraw. He grew up thinking his stepfather, Horace Smith, was his birth father, until he discovered his birth certificate at age 11. Just like his biological father, Tim McGraw too loved to play competitive sports, including baseball. He attended Northeast Louisiana University, on a baseball scholarship and during this time he also learned to play the guitar and would frequently perform and sing for tips.
