After years of mixtape appearances, the rap group Young Money made their commercial debut in 2009 with the help of the great rapper Lil Wayne. The rap group is affiliated with Lil Wayne and is also led by him and fairly fluid in membership. Other members of the group includes Drake, Gudda Gudda, Jae Millz, Nicki Minaj, Mack Maine, Lil Chuckee, and Lil’ Twist.
Earlier, the group was the foundation of Lil Wayne’s mixtapes, and some of the group members, Mack Maine and Nicki Minaj in particular, released mixtapes of their own as well. In association with Universal Music, the rap group Young Money released their debut single, ‘Every Girl,’ in 2009 from their album We Are young Money. The album was released on December 21, 2009 and was certified gold on May 24, 2010 by the RIAA with over 500,000 copies sold. Some of the popular singles from the album We Are young Money included ‘Every Girl’, ‘BedRock’, and ‘Roger That’. Lil Wayne has performed in all, except one song on the album, ‘Girl I Got You’.
